I don't blame his parents. They were not absent or unloving or unconcerned with his behavior. Like a lot of parents they did their best and it wasn't enough for Charlie. Since becoming an adult, Charlie has been in a position to seek treatment and make his life better. He has tried rehab several times but he's never wanted it enough to stay sober. AIDS won't kill him but I expect that he'll kill himself within a few years.

I beleive Martin. Sheen to be a decent man over 20 years I sat across from him on a NY subway . He was with his wife . They came across as very normal people. addiction is very very hard to overcome and especially for someone with access to unlimited income almost an insurmoutable problem .from what I have read about Martin he is a decent liberal leaning person.
