  • He was a dead ringer for his uncle, Shammi Kapoor.
  • In 1988, his father Raj Kapoor passed away during the filming of Henna (1991) starring Rishi Kapoor and Pakistani actress Zeba Bakhtiyar in lead roles. After his death, Rajiv stepped in as the producer of the film and Randhir Kapoor completed the direction of the film.
  • He tried his hand at directing with the Rishi Kapoor and Madhuri Dixit-starrer, Prem Granth (1996). However, the film was a box office failure and dissuaded him from directing ever again.
  • Following a break of 30 years, he made his comeback to acting with the film, Toolsidas Junior (2022). But, Rajiv didn’t live long enough to see the film’s release as he passed away shortly after completing the film.
