Why she lost the weight
When Dawn French burst onto our screens with the BAFTA-winning French & Saunders, she was known for her hilarious comedy but also her slightly larger frame, weighing 19st at her largest.
Fans have not believed her transformation, with some now calling her unrecognisable.
After deciding to have a hysterectomy, the doctors told Dawn she could have a less invasive and easily healed keyhole surgery.
But she would have to lose a few stone first, to have the option of this operation. She called the decision to lose weight “practical”, more than anything.

Dawn moved to Fowley, Cornwall with second husband Mark Bignell and it was here she began her physical transformation.
Speaking to her audience on her 30 Million Minutes tour she explained her diet:
No magic wand, just tiny, joyless low-cal eating and lots more walking for weeks and weeks.
The joyless eating doesn’t sound like too much fun, but walking in the Cornish countryside sounds like something we can get behind!
It’s clear she still loves to walk and constantly posts pictures of her dog walks on the Cornish coast to her Twitter, @Dawn_French.
